installing debian

Not that it's much use now, but if you install mdetect (mouse detection),
discover (video card detection) and read-edid (monitor detection) before
xserver-xfree86, then X will apparently configure itself.  Never tried
it tho.  Personally, I like the Debian install process.  It's simple,
quick, and does the bare minimum necessary.  Once I've rebooted into my
new install, I can set up everything to my hearts' content; for X, I
just copy my backed-up XF86Config-4 file and it's ready to roll.
