TransACT is running PPPoE. This is a "Point-Point" link (hence the PPP).
Ever tried "sniffing" a PPP link? Guess what? You won't see anything
other than traffic destined to/from your machine. It is all routed.

Just because you have an Ethernet interface coming out of the STB, don't
let that confuse you into thinking you have joined a great big city-wide
Ethernet network. All traffic needs to go through the bit Unisphere router
in Dickson and then get routed to it's destination. If you haven't actually
configured a route to your destination (ie. TransACT still haven't implemented
user-user connections yet), then you won't see any other connections than
to your ISP.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Bob Edwards.
