Unwanted attachments

Ignore them, just like text/html, application/octet-stream,
application/msword and other useless attachment types.

If they're attached properly, with the right content-type, then my mail
client will use them with GnuPG to verify the message.

Does your mail client not delete attachments when you delete the message
they're attached to? You might need to change mail clients.

You could also try filtering, if your mail client is capable.
