Traineeships

The modules as they are currently use Red Hat (yes yes boo hiss very good,
are we over that yet?) - However we aim to teach the students skills that
are independent of most distro's. We also encourage them to explore other
distro's to find what may be good for their needs.

As for the ISP project we're looking at combining a number of distro's as
well as a BSD box for an added touch of flavour.

By the way - CIT needs to get it's hand on an old Sun box running solaris
that students can access to practise their UNIX (we need a machine that has
the proprietary Sun korn shell) skills from home.

The modules do not enter into programming in any form other than a base
introduction to Perl (although there is a good Perl question in the
assignment designed to get the students to research Perl and write a
script).

As for what diploma it is I honestly have no idea. I mainly help teach the
practical sides of these classes as well proof read some of the lectures. I
also run a website as a resource for the students. I'm doing all of this a
secondary thing to my main job. I'll try and find out what diploma it is if
anyone is actually interested.

Cheers

Daniel
