jeff is merely pointing put that "apt-get install <bleh>" or "man <bleh>"
are not especuially helpful to somebody who is trying to work out a
problem.

Not everybody uses debian, so the 'apt-get' reference is wasted on a lot
of people. 

The user was not after an editor - they were after some advice concerning
administration tools.

The /etc/printcap format is non-trivial - by following through the manpage
you will usually get it correct, but a handy tool that does it for you is
much faster.

Even suggesting the user look on freshmeat would be more benificial than
your posting.
