PPC linux - console fb troubles

Tomasz,
       This may be totally off-track, but I have had the same trouble with
the Nvidia console fb under 2.4.x. However, the vga VESA modes work fine.
vga=0x31a  within lilo.conf works, where as video=riva:1280x1024-60" doesn't.
