well someone here (work) mentioned there are problems with the locking inn
redhat 7.0, the statd has a silly bug, redhat have a fix for it out, will wait
till we get the new rpms on before I check further.

have not tried, will do maybe later, I can ssh to the machine my home
directory is stored on physically to do email so hey.
