Upgrading a disk in place

What I'd do (which might be the hard way) is to make the new disk the
primary, boot from the CD or or rescue floppy then do a "lilo -r /mount_point"

i.e.

# mkdir /a
# mount /dev/hda1 /a			(or whatever the root partition is)
# /a/sbin/lilo -r /a


If you have a seperate /boot then mount that too.
