Hi,

I have some binary files containing some software data transferred from
a SGI IRIX Server and now stored on a Suse Linux server (Linux pefs01
2.6.27.19-5-default #1 SMP 2009-02-28 04:40:21 +0100 x86_64 x86_64
x86_64 GNU/Linux). The transfer was done using the tar command.

I am using Samba to mount the data on a Windows Client machine (XP
64bit) and am facing problems in accessing the data. The file opens well
but the data is not accessible.

I have a feeling this is due to byte swapping (big endian, little
endian) issues. Is there any Samba or Linux setting to emulate byte
swapping.

Any ideas, pointers to resolve the problem are welcome.

Thanks

Shailesh
