VMware and NISplus integration

Has anyone tried and/or had any success intregating
NISplus with VMware ESX server 2.x?

Have downloaded the NIS+ utils but won't compile
because the ESX server installation CD does not give
kernel source code.

Does anyone know of a per compiled version of NISplus
that would work with the VMware flavor of RH 7.3
kernel?

Any help and/or thoughts would be appreciated.
