That really shouldn't be required since this the following is already in
the nisplus script:

<snip>
DOMAINNAME=`domainname`
if [ "$DOMAINNAME" = "(none)" -o "$DOMAINNAME" = "" ]; then
if [ -n "$NISDOMAIN" ]; then

else
exit 1
fi
fi
I have this working on 7.1 - 7.3.
