Running NIS+ on Slackware 7.1

Hi,

I wonder if anyone has any experience of running Slackware 7.1 machines as
NIS+ clients.
The system is able to connect to the server and display the maps fine, but
cannot authenticate using 'keylogin'. The server is running Solaris 8 Intel,
in case that affects things.
Any advice on how to get the authentication working is appreciated.
