pam_unix2

Hello,

I followed the set of steps suggested by Bob Edwards in his email on
Thu, 06 dec 2001. All works fine but I encountered some problems with
pam_unix2.so :

- if I use pam_unix2-20010711 tarball, doing a "make -f Make.alone" and copy
pam_unix2.so to /lib/security then I am able to login

- if I use pam_unix2-1.2 tarball, doing a "./configure", "make" and 
"make install" which puts pam_unix2.so into /lib/security then I am NOT
able to login

please tell me what's wrong
