hi jeff,

i've tested kernel-2.6.18-147.el5.jtltest.75.i686.rpm on a VMware ESX hosts. This kernel just panics the the VM.
i went along with kernel-xen-2.6.18-147.el5.jtltest.75.i686.rpm running in a DomU ontop of a RHEL5 dom0 boots very slow (arround 15minutes) and stresses the cpu up to 100% (read by xentop during RHEL5.3 domU boot).
but...your patches solve the issue. the cifs mounts now _do_not_ get unmounted if a user gives the wrong password.

i do not have hardware available that could be used for testing. even though the productive env is in Xen anyway.
