[linux-cifs-client] Issue with mount.cifs BUT ONLY on RAID volumes... selinux on

Hi All

SELINUX EXPERTS needed......

It is ONLY an issue on RAID with selinux .

I am trying to share a folder via samba that works perfectly on a regular
folder.

But if I try & share on a folder located on a RAID0 or RAID1 volume I get
"error 6" messages.

Any help at all is appreciated.

Are there limitations with samba shares.

I have tested this on RHEL5 on two different machines with exactly the same
"error 6" result.

Obviously I restart samba everytime i modify smb.conf.

This seems to be an SELINUX issue.

Failing to mount on raid volumes ONLY & only when selinux is enforcing.

selinux messages are lacking & show no such violation in /var/log/messages.

RHEL5 selinux seems not to have a "sealert" solution. (setroubleshootd)

The same result is happening wether it set in /etc/fstab
OR
from the command line (CLI).

SO my Question is:

Is there a recomended solution. apart from turning selinux off (disabled)

extra info
selinux is disabled, Software Raid, Hard disks are IDE.

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Roger
