[linux-cifs-client] dbench cleanup error with cifs mount

I am running dbench 3.04, one client, in a cifs mounted share on a linux client, and get cleanup errors on each run. (ie. /bin/rm: cannot remove directory `./clients/client0/~dmtmp/EXCEL': Directory not empty)
The dbench client directories remain, they contain no files on server or client.
I have a Windows 2003 server and have tried the same dbench run on the following linux clients:
RHEL 4-4 2.6.9-42.0.8.EL in LPAR on zSeries
   cifs.ko version: 1.34
   mount.cifs version: 1.5
    and
   SLES-10 under VM
   2.6.16.21-0.8-default
   cifs.ko version: 1.40
   mount.cifs version: 1.10-3.0.22-13.16-SUSE-SLES10

I get dbench cleanup errors on both RHEL and SLES systems.

On the SLES10 system, (cifs 1.40) I was able to use ' echo 4 > /proc/fs/cifs/cifsFYI ' to see the following messages:

kernel: CIFS VFS: Calculated size 0x2b vs actual length 0x2e
kernel: CIFS VFS: bad smb size detected for Mid=52945
kernel: CIFS slow rsp: cmd 6 mid 55136 A: 0x65 S: 0x65 R: 0x0
kernel: CIFS slow rsp: cmd 6 mid 55143 A: 0x65 S: 0x65 R: 0x0
kernel: CIFS slow rsp: cmd 6 mid 55148 A: 0x66 S: 0x66 R: 0x0

I also have RHEL4-4 logs and dmesg info.
I am a new cifs user and could use a pointer to some doc or info on cifs debug or an idea on debugging the dbench cleanup errors.
Thanks
Karin
