Randal,

Have you ever fixed your memory problem? I am having a killer memory problem and like you said, there is next to nothing that solves
the problem. Here is my issue:

[root at ohmster etc]# mount -t cifs -o
credentials=/etc/smbpasswd.cifs,directio,uid=ohmster,gid=ohmster,rw,dir_mode=755,file_mode=0644,iocharset=utf8 //missy/ohmster_music
/mnt/test
mount error 12 = Cannot allocate memory
Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g.man mount.cifs)
[root at ohmster etc]#

"Cannot allocate memory" the man page sheds no light on this issue. Have you gotten your memory situation under control and if so,
what was it that cured the problem?

Thanks,
Paul

The problem seems to have disappeared with the latest release, and may have
been related to the large file problem that was also fixed.
