Funny, looking more closely...  Running rsync to mirror a cifs mounted 
directory with a local filesystem, there were 10 Permission Denied error 
with rsync which were the exact same number of dmesg errors.  I'm 
assuming the:
    CIFS VFS: Calculated size 0x27 vs actual length 0x48
    CIFS VFS: bad smb size detected for Mid=11343
is actually one error....
