Steve, Thank you for the patch: http://svn.samba.org/samba/ftp/cifs-cvs/cifs-do-not-take-rename-sem.patch I had to change it to remove semaphore calls instead of mutex calls, and the tests that I was doing are now working fine. Many thanks for your help. Regards, Alan Tyson, HP
