I will try to reproduce your results on my test system.   I did all of the
chmods locally in Windows XP (all in the same shared directory) and then
did "getfattr /mnt/*" from Linux on that directory remotely.   There may be
something strange going on with masks.

I can also try to setfattr (from Linux to Windows XP) various otherwise
identical files with different values for SETFILEBITS and see what happens.
