[linux-cifs-client] Re: CIFS "soft mount" like in NFS?

cifs will take a mount option of "soft" (and also "hard" to) but soft is
the default if neither is specified.  The retry value for that
connection to the server tcon->retry gets set to this value on mount and
it is checked in a few places although perhaps not enough.

Any more testing observations on hard vs. soft mount behavior?
