[linux-cifs-client] Linux cifs client timeout

Using Fedora Core 2, mounting remote Windows file shares with "mount -t
cifs //<IP>/<share> /mnt/foo -o username=foo,password=bar", I'm
receiving "CIFS VFS: cifs_mount failed w/return code = -110". Usually a
additional connection attempt will succeed.
I don't know if it's relevant but if I use "smbclient" to connect
manually I also get a few timeout messages then a connection.
Given that the link is slow, can I pass a longer timeout to the client
to tolerate the timeouts w/o the complaints? There is an option
"timeo=X" for NFS, will that work with cifs?
