Hey Steve,
Just dropping you a note, we got it, not sure what I was doing wrong
before but the samba 3.0 mount.cifs client, with kernel version
2.4.21-20 redhat enterprise and Cifs 1.20c works fine (meaning I can
connect) will do some load testing now to see what happens.
But I have connected to a Network Appliance, A windows share and a NAS
share on a EMC clarion.
Thanks for the ealier response
I'm now seeing some not so nice behaviour with further tests.
Steve when mounted to a netapp that works with SMB, I'm getting all
kinds of errors, I can't ls, I can't touch, I can't do much with the
mount.

The copy stalled, but I could still go into the share from another ssh
session and copy smaller files and browse etc. Any insight, I did a
search for many of the errors but nothing.
I then tried to copy a file from the share (win2000 box) to my /tmp
drive and it came over cleanly and efficiently no errors.
Problems, can't do anything on a netapp, memory/IO errors (works fine
with SMB) Copy large files from unix to windows2000 share hung as seen
above.
Thanks again
