Hi ,
~ Hope some can shed some light on this problem.
~ I can mount a share from Win2000 server via a linux client running
Redhat 9 with a customised 2.4.20.28.9 kernel to include the cifs module
(cifs-0.0.9a).
~ I have access to read and modify existing files and create new
directories under the root. However I get the following error when
attempting to create a new file

Status code returned 0xc0000022 NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED
~ netmisc.c: !!Mapping smb error code 5 to POSIX err -13 !!
~ cifssmb.c: Error in Open = -13
~ dir.c: cifs_create returned 0xfffffff3
~ dir.c: CIFS VFS: leaving cifs_create (xid = 2264) rc = -13

~ If the security settings on the share are changed to allow full
control then the create will work. I do not fully understand Windows
file permissions but it would seem that setting this is to say the least
excessive. Is this a server or client problem?

Cheers,
Ian
