Hello,
I'm using a fresh kernel 2.6.9-mm1 with cifs module.
I have found the following thread related to my problem :
http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&lr=&threadm=fa.ifl2rf5.2k238b%40ifi.uio.no&rnum=1&prev=/groups%3Fq%3Dcifs%2Blinux%2B%2BNo%2Btask%2Bto%2Bwake,%2Bunknown%2Bframe%2Brcvd%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%26selm%3Dfa.ifl2rf5.2k238b%2540ifi.uio.no%26rnum%3D1
When I backup my system on cifs filesystem, my system hang randomly. The
hang happens rarely, about one time by 10Gb.
In the syslog file, the kernel says :
Nov 28 06:20:02 w2kzzaxxx kernel: CIFS VFS: sends on sock deee9800
stuck for 30 seconds
Nov 28 06:20:02 w2kzzaxxx kernel: CIFS VFS: Error -11 sending data on
socket to server.
Nov 28 06:20:02 w2kzzaxxx kernel: CIFS VFS: sends on sock deee9800
stuck for 30 seconds
Nov 28 06:20:02 w2kzzaxxx kernel: CIFS VFS: Error -11 sending data on
socket to server.
... repeated tenths times
and :
Nov 28 06:20:02 w2kzzaxxx kernel: CIFS VFS: No task to wake, unknown
frame rcvd!
then, the system hang.
I don't use smbf, because my tar.gz files size reach 2Gb.
On the w2k3 file server side, no error in events log.
Here is my cifs config :
[root at w2kzzaxxx cifs]# grep . *
