[linux-cifs-client] CIFS not mounting Windows Share correctly

Receiving mount error with CIFS.
I have reviewed several similar posts, but none appear to have a resolution..
Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Windows 2003 Server
Followed this site http://oslabs.mikro-net.com/mcifs.html, for Group Policy configuration and /proc/fs/cifs parameters (how do you force these to load at boot?).
RH EL ES v3.0
Complied kernel ver 2.4.21-15.0.4.ELcustom with CIFS imbedded in kernel.
No Samba server installed or configured.
# mount -t cifs //testadsymbol/home /home/test1 -o user=administrator,domain=symboltestad.com
