[jcifs] tomcat url unknown protocol: smb

Hi- I am also facing this unknown protocol issue eventhough i placed my
jcifs-1.3.16.jar under Tomcat6.0's lib folder as per faq?
My env is Tomcat 6, Java 6 and cifs-1.3.16.jar.
Since tomcat 6.0 it is not necessary to use or setup setenv or setclasspath 
or anyother files isn't?
Any clue?
