If AD (2000 or 2003), why not a LDAP query using the NTLM username as sAMAccountName ?

Why would that only work with 2003? I assume what you are talking about is a query for sAMAccountName? That should work for both 2000 and 2003. Can you clarify?

Objet : [jcifs] NTLM authentication question

If I am using the NTML authentication filter with an Active Directory
domain controller, after a user is authenticated, can I get the users
distinguished name from NtlmPasswordAuthentication (or by other means)?
Is there really any way to even determine what the user DN is if NTLM is
involved?

Thanks
Tony
