[jcifs] jcifs and ipsec

I am seeing  strange behavior when trying ipsec.  I try and connect to a 
share and the first two attempts will fail but the third try is 
successful every time.  I have tried increasing retries/timeous  etc. But 
still getting this . I have two machines by themselves on
a hub.   Any  suggestions, using 1.2.9 ? Thanks
