[jcifs] how to turn on builtin debugging

I am trying to turn on the builtin debugging  and I am not sure how. I 
have set the jcifs.util.loglevel but after reading other  
requests I know I may have to  to compile with debug somehow and maybe 
change the base  code . I have never changed the base code before and am 
confused what needs done.  Thanks for the Beginner question.
