A bug in Sun's HotSpot VM can cause jCIFS to incorrectly encode file
offsets in write requests resulting in massive file corruption. Once the
error occurs it cannot be stopped without restarting the VM. If you are
using the java -server option on Linux with a long lived multithreaded
application that uses jCIFS to write files it is strongly recommended that
you upgrade to 0.8.3. This release eliminates some redundent code that was
ultimately triggering the bug in the HotSpot VM.

Big thanks to Richard Heap for diagnosing and fixing this very elusive
problem.

Mike
