[jcifs] Is there any way to do ntlm inside a web domain (without a prompt)?

Is there any way to do a silent login to a website that has a domain (i.e. server.domain.com) instead of just to the server itself (i.e. server) without getting prompted? or is this an internet explorer limitation? (any workarounds?)
