[jcifs] URL Problem

I am using jCIFS 0.6.5.  I am having an issue with special characters in an SMB URL.  If I construct a URL like this:

smb://username:password%@host/path

The password has a special character in it that causes jCIFS to throw a malformed URL exception.  Do I have to encode the username/password before I construct the URL or is this something jCIFS should be handling for me?
