The  name service deadlock described on many occations was not really fixed
in  both the stable and beta series until it was "rediscovered" in the last
beta.  I  have  made the critical change in the stable package. Both series
are  now  up  to date. Knock on wood. The problem is easily reproducible by
simply  running examples/ThreadedSmbCrawler.java with 'smb://' on a big WAN
with  10 threads. Some of the threads will not finish. If you are running a
mildly   efficient   threaded  crawler  that  starts  at  the  'smb://'  or
'smb://workgroup/' level you will have this problem until you upgrade.

conceptually  similar and, more important, to tasks that have not
yet been conceived.
