[distcc] (dcc writex) ERROR: failed to write: Broken pipe

hi,
i run netbsd 3 beta on a jornada 720 and that's the reason why i need distcc
to compile my sources, the jornada is very slow...
i read the tutorial at
http://mail-index.netbsd.org/tech-pkg/2005/01/03/0000.html but the compiling
proccess stops at

(dcc_writex) ERROR: failed to write: Broken pipe
(dcc_build_somewhere) Warning: failed to distribute, running locally instead
(dcc_pump_sendfile) ERROR: sendfile failed: Broken pipe
(dcc_build_somewhere) Warning: failed to distribute, running locally instead

i run the latest distcc i can get for netbsd it's version 2.18.3
i found a pice of code that should fix that problem but the code looks very
different on my machine

the distcc faq says "This was caused by an unfortunate bug in 2.3, 2.4, and
2.4.1. Please upgrade to 2.4.2 or later." but this didn't help much...
