There is an idea from some time ago that distcc should do load-balancing, etc by server IP address, rather than hostname. If we did that, then you could perhaps just have one round-robin DNS address per site. If the machine's default domain was set properly it would be enough to set DISTCC_HOSTS=distcc. -- Martin
