[distcc] Debian apt-build success?

I am playing with apt-build on my Debian boxes and trying to get apt-build
and distcc to work together.  They work fine individually, but when I try
to configure apt-build to use distcc it errors. (The error message is not
helpfull, usually just error building foo) It does not seem to like the -j
option.

Has anyone gotten the two to work together?
