[distcc] Problem using TMPDIR with Cygwin version of distcc

Mark,

Did you try exporting both DISTCC_VERBOSE and TMPDIR *before* starting 
distccd in daemon mode?  I believe that is essential, else how would an 
already running program inherit the environment variables from a shell 
to which it no longer has a relation?
