[distcc] does distcc need large file support?

At the moment the distcc protocol uses 32-bit lengths for files, which
means that inputs or outputs can never be more than 4GB.

Has anyone ever heard of a .i or .o file larger than this? It sounds
pretty unlikely to me.

I suppose enormous might be useful for non-cc distributed computing,
but even then I doubt if people would want to transmit the whole file
every time, rather than just a slice of it.
