Hello,

first I completely removed the directory "/tmp/distcc_00002d7e".
The filesystem is NTFS.

$ distcc gcc -c testmake.c

Please investigate the permissions on this file so that we can see
what's failing.  On Unix, I'd try

  id
  ls -l /tmp/distcc_000003eb/lock_localhost_0000000
  ls -dl /tmp/distcc_000003eb/

I'm not sure what is needed on Cygwin.

You could try removing that directory.

Is this on a VFAT filesystem, or something else?
