Sorry, I meant to put it in, but I misunderstood it the first time.
It's in CVS now, along with a regression test case.
I can see how the gcc 3.1 manual does explain this behaviour (-S =
stop after compilation), but it's a bit subtle. Do you know if that
behaviour is the same in other compilers?
