[cifs-protocol] Assistance needed to help Azure AD Cloud Connect

Kia Ora Dochelp,
I'm trying to get Samba to interoperate with Azure AD Connect cloud
sync (and/or another of the similar tools, ifthis isn't practical).

This is a strange request I know, but I need assistance if possible
towork out where Samba deviates from the Windows AD behaviour,
becausethe tool seems to operate in a totally different mode (DirSync
seen inone, not in the other, filters for LDAP are different etc).
I have comparison network traces and matching keytabs (from a
testdomain) of success with a Windows DC in the same domain as the
SambaDC, which fails, but I'm struggling to even find where they
diverge,and so what we might be doing wrong. 
Is this something you can help with?
