Subject: [EXTERNAL] "Flags" field in [MS-SMB2] 2.2.2.2.1 Symbolic Link Error Response?

Hi Dochelp,

[MS-SMB2] 2.2.2.2.1 describes the Flags field to have one of two
values: 0 (absolute symlink) and 1 (relative symlink).

Attached find a network trace of a test against Windows 2016 Standard. In frame 33 the test creates a symlink, and in frame 39 it tries to open it. Frame 40 correctly replies with NT_STATUS_STOPPED_ON_SYMLINK, but the "Flags" field has a value of 0x20000001. What is that additional bit?

Thanks,

Volker
