Subject: Active Directory RID-Set Object Attributes

Could we please have some clarification on the RID-Used-Pool attribute of RID-Set objects in Active Directory?

Specifically we are interested in the following:

  * The intended use of this attribute
  * How is this attribute set? It is defined as a 64-bit interval, but there does not seem to be any apparent reason why a 32-bit integer would not suffice (if it was used only for some form of RID pool counting).

regards,

Clive Ferreira
