Guenther,

I created case SR 110100183874086 to track your issue described below. I or someone from my team will follow-up with you. As you are aware, we already made contact with the product group and will be filing a TDI.

MS-RPRN 2.2.4.14 Printer Names
-----------------------------------------------------------

We see Win7 64bit clients calling RpcOpenPrinterEx where the pPrinterName does not match any of the Printer Names formats as defined in 2.2.4.14.

We see clients asking for '\\servername\printername, DrvConvert' as well as '\\servername\printer, LocalOnly'. We do return ERROR_INVALID_PARAMETER as we don't know what else to do for these open requests. Both patterns are not documented in MS-RPRN.

Question: what is the meaning of this Printer Name pattern and what should a print server return for these ? Should a printserver just chop of the ', LocalOnly' and ', DrvConvert' and treat the rest of the name as a normal printer UNC ?
