modification time not updated

Hallo,

I am using a linux smb client to connect
to my Windows2000 computer. It sometimes
happens that if I write data from linux
over a smb connection to the windows2000,
that the modification time on the windows
is not updated.

Does anybody know this problem?
Any help is welcome.
