By proposing a minimalist solution, I was trying not to radically change things. At least, the configuration files would be directly identifiable with the respective daemons using them. The same one is used for an AD member server and a standalone file server.


Anyway, congratulations. If this is the dumbest thing you heard for a long time, it means that you usually hear smart things only. Good for you! ;-) I hear dumb things all the time and I think we must be willing to risk looking dumb while tentatively trying to improve things.
