[Samba] trouble with variable substitutions with samba 4.16

i face an issue related to variable substitutions since upgrade from 
samba 4.13 to 4.16


my smb.conf use "include = /etc/samba/%U.smb.conf"

this is usefull for example to add shares for only specific users.


since my upgrade from samba 4.13 to samba 4.16, it is not working 
anymore and i get

Can't find include file /etc/samba/.smb.conf in log.smbd

i did not find message related to change about variable substitutions.


did i miss something?

how can i keep using variable substitutions?
