Hello Everybody,
after a long and painful troubleshooting, it appears that the server
can provide the configured shares when plugged into a 100-BaseTx
port. When it is plugged into 1000-BaseTx, the strange behaviour
starts to appear.
Looking throught some posts on forums show me that the NIC on the
server may have a broken driver. The servers are Dell PE 2950 with the
well-known (but not for good reasons) Broadcom NetXtreme II. So we
have to add the bnx2 firmware when we install the OS.
It appears that a kernel update may have broken the driver, in order
to fix this we have to disable an option into the module config :
cat /etc/modprobe.d/bnx2.conf
options bnx2 disable_msi=1
After a reboot, everything was working like a charm on 1000-BaseTX port.
Hope this could help someone.
