As Google has stated that they will not support SMB natively, that
means that this must be a Chrome packaged app, installed from the
Chrome Web Store or manually with the .crx file. The GPL license will
not be an issue. There are quite a few GPL-licensed Chrome extensions
and apps that are already distributed on the Chrome Web Store, so I
wouldn't expect any problems with that.
